Stigma
Introduction
Individuals within the IMPACT program face many types of stigma on a daily basis due to varying factors. This module will provide an overview of the types of stigma these individuals may face and ways they can combat them to improve their overall quality of life. Level 101 contains introductory information related to stigma. Level 201 describes ways to combat stigma, as well as differences between stigma and discrimination. Level 301 focuses on providers to assist them in offering services without stigma.- • Identify types of stigma and how it can be combatted on both an individual and provider level
- • Identify differences between stigma and discrimination and what to do in the event discrimination occurs
- • Provide information related to stigma free services, as well as providing advocacy on an individual and group level
