Parents with children exposed to substances in utero often need social support to help them feel cared for and assisted by others. In this course, Lesson 101 will define parent support, describe the different types of social support, and explain the importance of social and parent support. Lesson 201 focuses on the different types of social support systems, as well as accessing social supports. Learners will gain knowledge of the different types of support including information about stigma within society. Lesson 301 focuses on defining Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) and provides resources available for families and children with NAS.
